About Guided Growth Counseling Center
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here! I’m Tracie Schardein (she/her/hers), a licensed professional counselor (LPC) helping clients throughout Kansas find hope, healing, and growth. I’m here to guide and support you on your unique journey of growth and wellness.
My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion and understanding. I want to hear your story to personalize what best fits your needs. Research has shown that the therapist-client relationship is key to successful outcomes. That’s a great place to start.
I’m committed to making therapy effective and personalized, whether in-person or through telehealth. My goal for telehealth is the warmth and connection of in-person sessions with the convenience of virtual. Connection without the commute!
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Fort Hays State University. I have Bachelors’ degrees in Elementary Education and Communication Studies from Washburn University.
Before becoming a therapist, I enjoyed working as a school counselor with students (and their families/caregivers) ranging in age from pre-school through high school seniors.
When you’re ready to take the first step to growth and healing, I’d be honored to join you on your path. Let’s connect.
My approach is person-centered and grounded in empathetic compassion, true listening, and evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. Research shows that the therapist-client relationship is key to successful outcomes. That’s a great place for us to start.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings while being heard, and supported with encouragement, tools, and resources.
I believe you have the inner wisdom to discover solutions that are right for you. My role is to listen deeply, ask challenging questions, and support you on your journey toward personal growth.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” ~ Carl Rogers
This quote from psychologist Carl Rogers speaks to the importance of unconditional positive regard in allowing people to feel safe to openly and authentically explore who they are.
When you feel truly accepted and not judged, it’s easier to gain insight into your own patterns and motivations, which then allows for the possibility of meaningful and lasting change to happen.
A safe and confidential space to lose the mask . . . untangle the jumble of thoughts and feelings . . . notice the patterns . . . heal the hurt . . . to create the change you need.
